Italy by trains; Greece by buses and ferries

We had initially planned a trip to China in the summer. Unfortunately when we realized that the airfare was going to be as expensive as going to Europe, we decided to head back there for our summer family holiday. Our itinerary was influenced by Europe destinations serviced by AirTransat. Once we settled on our arrival and departure cities, we used once again our Lonely Planet travel guide to help us fill in the blanks between these two locations. As our travel itinerary firmed up, Jessica made arrangement to join us along our Greek Island hopping travel segment.
