Delayed summer holidays

Go to first post of Europe2016

Putting a bit of context to each of our traveling journeys has always been important to us although not always easy. We had our mind and heart set to visit China this summer. We had already spent time developing an travel itinerary. Out the blues our travel destination opportunities opened up after learning that Victoria had committed herself to a summer course in Physics to make up for the one she opted out during the regular school year. With the Chinese travel requirements calling for an invitation letter from a family member in addition to a costly visa, and knowing that we certainly going to visit family member in China in the next year or so as we transition to our retirement.

So here we were looking at Europe again for a new travel experience. With our past four trips to different parts of Europe, we were not sure, at first, what country to focus on but we quickly identified Portugal as a starting point. The rest of the travel itinerary was inspired by a few travel guides.
