Shortly after returning home from our 4-month cycling trip in Europe last summer, we felt sweep up, akin of an urgency, to pursue our travel interests while we still considered ourselves healthy and relatively fit. Hence, we thought of returning to the South East Asia region where we had abruptly interrupted our travel in March 2020 in light of the COVID-19 world pandemic emergence.

Over the course of several weeks throughout the months of October and November, we developed an initial trip itinerary with the help of Lonely Planet (LP) travel guides. We ended up, as usual, cobbling together different parts of LP’s itinerary suggestions.

The ultimate highlight of this journey should be a proposed week long stay in the exclusive Maldives to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary!
