Shenzhen: A Shopping Destination

We arrived around 8:30am by taxi at Shanghai’s 2nd airport, Hongqiao aiport, for our flight to Shenzhen some two hours flight time south. The airport security keep on surprising us. They seem to be focused on liquid as on our flight from Newark – Shanghai suggested when our lock on one of our checked-in luggage,s which held a few bottles of wine, had been cut and the bag inspected. Now in Shenzhen, the scanner had picked up “suspicious” bottles of … bug repellent and sunscreen (ideally not applied at the same time). Just before arriving in Shenzhen the pilot announced that the temperature was 20C. I remarked to Jenny that she should not have bothered bringing her heavy coat along this part of the trip. Shenzhen is more or less an shopping city, few other attractions here. Well we did just that. In one part of town, we went through a ten story building of electronic/computers stalls. One could have easily built their own motherboard with all the stuff we saw. We learned a long the way a few more things about Ipad knock off. We made it back to the hotel early afternoon on our 2nd day after some great dim sum. Victoria and Jenny enjoyed a long afternoon nap while I struggle to understand why the wired internet connection was so slow. We had planned to do more shopping on our last evening but opted to rest some more. We are still feeling some jet lag effect.
