We had never quite expected to be heading back to China less than 18 months from our past visit there.
But for the same reason we headed to China in 2004, another family wedding prompted us to pack our bags and head once again to Shanghai. Naturally, this is great time for a family reunion but also a great opportunity to discover a few more interesting places in Asia.
To-date we’ve experienced China’s Fall and Summer seasons and now we’re preparing ourselves for its Winter.
Strangely, Victoria’s greatest concern with this trip is about missing a few weeks of school. While as much as Jessica had hope to join us in Shanghai, her UK university schedule has, once again, made it somewhat impractical to do.
Packing our luggage has been a bit more complicated this time around as we’ve had to plan for cool and hot weather, both formal and leisure, clothes.
Some might wonder about the word “velocidad” in the URL, it simply refers to the Spanish word “speed” and by extension vacation is the time for shifting into low speed.
In case you are interested in browsing our travelogues from 2004 and 2009 and have a few laughs at the pictures, feel free to enjoy.
Our latest high-tech travel toy after the digital camera and netbook, now is an Amazon Kindle eReader. We’ve left our hefty Lonely Planet TravelGuides at home with the hope that the Kindle will suffice for the job. In case this technology fails (or we loose it), we’ve copied our eBooks onto the Netbook also.
And finally don’t be shy about sending us a message (via the “Leave a Message” option on the main page) whenever … even if it is to simply provide us with an update of the other parallel universe we left behind for a month.
Hope you will enjoy reading our entries as much as we enjoy sharing them with you.
