It is hard to believe that it’s been almost five years since our last visit to China. On the eve of our departure from China back in the fall of 2004, we had promised Jenny’s family that we would be back to visit within 2 or 3 years. Time just flies by … and the best proof of this is looking at our kids and other young folks. For example, back then in the Fall 2004, Victoria was just entering junior kindergarden, she could not read or write. Now, she is an avid reader and will hopefully help us write this travel journal. As for Jessica, back then she was embarking in her last year of high school. And now, just a few weeks ago, she graduated from University. Finally, the main purpose of our last trip to China was to attend the wedding of Jenny’s nephew. Today, the young married couple have a boy attending kindergarden.

Just recently we went back to review our China 2004 travel journal. This brought back a number of great memories.

Based on our past experience in writing an on-line travel journal, we recall spending a lot of time in smoke-filled Internet Cafe writing our entries and finding adequate Internet Cafe location was also challenging at time. Hence we opted, this time around, to invest in a small notebook to help us maintain our travel journal.

Although summer is not the best time, weather wise, to visit China, as many of the places on our itinerary will be quite hot. Jenny has already warned me about how hot it will be.

Our 6 week trip will hopefully make us discover some popular destination along our way to Tibet. Hope you will enjoy reading our entries as much as we enjoy sharing them with you.
