Well after anticipating this China trip for almost a year … it is finally only a week away. As for any good travel plan ours has changed a few times along the way. We originally planned to arrive in Shanghai, we are now scheduled to arrive in Beijing. We were also planning to travel only two of us… but as departure time grew closer, it started to be much harder to leave the little one behind… although this decision will certainly changed the “speed” and nature of our trip we feel that Victoria is at an age to remember this travel opportunity. Unfortunately for Jessica, she will be staying at home to pursue her academic responsibilities associated with her last year of high school (Sorry Jessica … I am sure you will find a way or two to seek compensation for this missed trip!).

This past week, we were pretty busy at securing travel visas, maps and guide books, clothes, money and airfare tickets. Now we hope everything can fit in our travel backpacks.

As I promised myself on my last cycle adventure in the Yucatan in Jan. 2002, the postcard era is over.. too costly and time consuming. Hence, this travelogue services is our response to keeping in touch during our travel. Although, I have typically kept a daily travel journal on all past trip, I am not sure how often we will have the opportunity to update this site… but regardless you will be the first one to find out.
